2009 X-DANCE

To All Filmmakers!

November 20th is the entry deadline for this year's X-Dance Film Festival!

All entries must go through the X-Dance website (www.x-dance.com). You can pay online and take care of everything from our website.  Almost everything you need to know is on the site, including contact info.

If you have any other questions send us an email.

We are requiring attendance by either the filmmaker or some other representatives (Athlete, Producer, etc.) that is directly involved in the making of the film. This will make a huge difference for you, your film and X-Dance.

Last year was a break through year for X-Dance and for the filmmakers.  We enjoyed a huge welcome in Salt Lake City, the new home of X-Dance.  We had a beautiful big theater and record attendance for the screenings.  The Bra Boys had their North American Premier playing to a standing room only record crowd!  Some of the top films use X-Dance to launch and premier their films to the world and the industry.  Travis Pastranna, Tony Hawk, Tara Dakides, and all the Bra Boys (all the way from Australia), were in attendance and most of them had their "World Premier" at X-Dance making X-Dance officially the premier event in the Action Sports Filmmaking world!

The film "199 Lives" (Dir. Greg Godfrey, Studio 411 Productions) took top prize of "Best Film", with its incredible action, story, and cinematography.  "Bra Boys" won "Best Documentary", John Decesare won "Best Director" for "The Windsurfing Movie", and the "Emerging Filmmaker Award" went to Britton Cailloutte for "Sliding Liberia" (check out all the winners on the website).

Over 200 entries from all over the world were narrowed down to 40 films.  Half of the films last year were from outside the U.S.  Competition will be just as incredible this year!

The attention from Hollywood started at the Festival and kept going throughout our Hollywood Film Screening Series this past year.  Two films were picked up for theatrical distribution and several of the other filmmakers were signed on for major distribution.  This is just the start for the filmmakers of X-Dance.

We at X-Dance truly believe that the filmmakers in Action Sports are the most cutting edge filmmakers in all of the film industry.  We believe that there will be a film come through the X-Dance Film Festival that will be the blockbuster to send Action Sports Filmmaking into break away Hollywood and mainstream recognition.

Be a part of the greatest Action Sports Film Festival in the world!
Enter your films through the X-Dance website.  If you don't have a film for this year's festival, I'm sure you know friends and colleagues that do. Spread the word and come out to support and see the best Action Sports films in the world!
