Watch for Pedestrians

“Operation Crosswalk”

The Park City Police Department will conduct the 2nd round of “Operation Crosswalk” on Wednesday, July 16 as part of the City’s ongoing efforts to enhance pedestrian safety and walkability.

At various times throughout the summer, non-uniformed officers will be using designated crosswalks in the Park City area in an effort to reduce common violations and increase public knowledge and awareness. Motorists who do not obey pedestrian/vehicle laws may receive warnings or citations depending on the situation. The first Operation Crosswalk operation held on June 20 resulted in traffic stops on 30 vehicles, 21 motorist warnings and 9 citations for traffic violations.

The operation will occur at the following locations and times:

Bonanza Dr. and Iron Horse 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Kearns Blvd. in front of PCHS 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm

The Police Department is announcing the times and locations of the crosswalks they are monitoring in order to promote awareness of “Operation Crosswalk”, as well as to enhance public awareness of the importance of observing crosswalks to protect pedestrian safety.
