VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP MAINTAIN MILL CANYON TRAIL

Salt Lake City, Utah, July 12, 2013 - Groups and individuals are invited to spend the day in the great outdoors, Saturday, July 20th helping to maintain the Mill Canyon trail from 9am to 3 pm. The Mill Canyon trail is located in American Fork Canyon and is a popular trail for multiple user groups, such as equestrian, dirt bikes, mountain bikes, and hikers. The top 3.5 miles of trail was newly constructed in 2009 to help minimize erosion and to provide a more enjoyable experience. Over the years the dirt has settled and the trail is in need of some maintenance. Volunteers should meet at the Mill Canyon Trailhead at 9:00 a.m. Please wear pants, closed toed shoes (no sandals) and a long sleeve shirt. Also bring work gloves, lunch, lots of water and an extra jacket. Directions to the Mill Canyon Trailhead: Drive up SR92, take a left on Forest Service Road 114 going to Cascade Springs, then take a left on a dirt road number 180. The dirt road is rough so a vehicle with higher ground clearance is recommended For more information contact Gary C. Gray at the Pleasant Grove Ranger District at 801-785-3563.
