Can you believe it's been a decade since Utah hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics? How time flies... Now the Utah Olympic Legacy has events planned in celebration of the 10 year anniversary. Park City started the celebrations last week on Main Street just before the FIS World Cup, and tomorrow Salt Lake will step in as they bring back an Olympic tradition.
Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake will be the place to be on Wednesday evening as there will be a relighting ceremony in Cauldron Park. Both Olympic and Paralympic icons will be the ones to re-"light the fire within".
The public is welcome to join in the relighting ceremony which is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Keep in mind that parking is limited, so check out RideUTA.com for public transit details.
The 2002 cauldron will be lit up with a spotlight until the end of the celebrations in a couple of weeks.
