Park City Television (PCTV) is pleased to announce that it recently received the Choice in Media Award at the inaugural Utah’s Entertainment and Choice Awards held at a sold-out Salt Palace.
Fans of PCTV overwhelmingly selected the station over the competition from Salt Lake’s network affiliates, proving that Utah audiences are responding to PCTV’s unique blend of action sports, entertainment and local news that focuses on something other than crime and tragedy.
“This award is proof that the Utah audience is looking for an alternative to the same-old content they’ve been getting for years,” said Stanton Jones, station owner and General Manager. “Park City Television does things differently - from our MOUNTAIN MORNING SHOW which does more than just happy talk to MOUNTAIN VIEWS which can feature in-depth discussions of news issues and great live music on one program. It’s great to see such a response from all across Utah from our highly passionate viewers.”
An active social media campaign with those passionate viewers certainly helped PCTV bring home the trophy. With more Twitter and Facebook followers than the other Park City media outlets combined, PCTV has a virtual army of fans that show their support for locally owned and operated businesses.
The Entertainment and Choice Award will join PCTV’s Emmy, Telly, Society of Professional Journalists and Utah Broadcasters Association awards that line the walls of its Park City studio. Over the past four years, PCTV has taken home as many awards as the other Salt Lake City stations, despite operating with a budget and staff a fraction of their size.
Founded in 1987, Park City Television is an FCC licensed TV station that has developed a large and loyal audience. PCTV broadcasts over the air on channel 45 (for those with antennas) as well as on cable channel 17 throughout Summit County and east to Evanston, Wyoming. The station reaches the entire Wasatch Front, from Logan to Payson on Comcast Digital Channel 102, Comcast Local Video On Demand, and covers the world with live streaming video at http://parkcity.tv.
