Crack Seal September 2008

Crack seal is an excellent way to prolong pavement life by sealing the surface cracks to prohibit water penetration on pavements which are in relatively good condition. However, all pavements in various stages and condition benefit from crack sealing. Public Works will apply 30 tons of crack seal to various city streets.


Utility Adjustments July 1 – August 8, 2008

Utility adjustments are required after an overlay to raise manholes, water valves and monument markers to the same grade as the pavement surface. Some require lowering prior to an overlay due to the milling process in advance of an overlay. 64 water valves/monuments and 50 manholes have been identified as needing to be adjusted prior to and after overlay application:
