A new service for fans of Real Salt Lake will launch during Saturday’s game against the New England Revolution. RSLexpress, powered by Mangia, is an innovative new in-seat food delivery service that will be available to club seat holders, beginning with Saturday’s 7:00 p.m. MT kickoff against New England, with the service being rolled out to the remainder of fans at Rio Tinto Stadium this summer.
To utilize the service, fans are required to register for a free account (at the Stadium during the game or by visiting www.RSLexpress.com) and then must text their order to 626442 (m-a-n-g-i-a). Fans receive an order confirmation reply text, along with an estimated delivery time. FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY, those who sign up for an account will automatically be entered to win a trip to South Africa to watch the World Cup Finals in 2010!
“We have been working on this project for two years, so we are all very excited to see the service put into action at the game,” said Hal Widlansky, CEO of Mangia. “Real Salt Lake and Levy Restaurants have been great partners and we expect the service to be a huge hit with the fans.”
Mangia began registering subscribers for the service at Rio Tinto Stadium two weeks ago at RSL’s 2-1 win over D.C. United. The initial number of sign-ups exceeded the company’s projection for the game and the response from fans anticipating the service was enthusiastic.

Utah-based Mangia was co-founded by Nate Checketts and Blake Ferguson in 2007, the duo launching a prototype of the service with several local restaurants. With the success of the restaurant experience and the positive response, Checketts and Ferguson decided to take the concept to a stadium setting for sports fans. Mangia has partnered with Levy Restaurants, the nationwide leader in concession services, for the RSL launch.
Mangia Technologies is a Utah-based startup that provides a platform for sports fans at stadiums and arenas to order food and eventually, merchandise and tickets, right from their seat. Using their mobile phones, fans select the items they’d like, confirm their order and then it is delivered to their seat.
