So this may sound strange to many here in Utah, but I have never owned a pair of new skis in my life.

Growing up in Michigan, I didn't ski a lot, so either I'd rent when I got to Mt. Brighton, or occasionally, I'd pick up a used pair at the ski swap.

When I moved here to Utah, I had no job, and then the jobs I did have didn't pay a whole lot, so the idea of dropping $1200 on skis and boots was a bit outrageous to me.

Thankfully, I work in the media, and there are plenty of companies out there that want to give you things. Our boss here at PCTV just worked out a great deal with fellow PC-based company Rossignol, and everyone here at the station has been hooked up with new skis, boots & poles.

Just like Santa, the FedEx driver came in yesterday with a bunch of long, skinny boxes and everyone was pretty happy.

So I just went over to the friendly folks at Jan's and got the bindings mounted and set...I can't wait to take them out for a spin.

In case you were wondering:

Rossignol Bandit B14 boots

And just so that I look really good, they threw in the Rossignol Braveheart Jacket
