"Living the Good Life"
"MDAPOLY2008", MDA Park City Executive Lock-Up is a one day event, Wednesday, October 8, 2008 where hundreds of business executives from the metropolitan area are recruited to serve time "behind bars" to raise funds for the MDA. The participants, a.k.a. the “jailbirds", will be escorted in a luxury vehicle to Butcher’s Chophouse, where they will enjoy a gourmet lunch, entertainment and will experience the joy of helping local children and adults with neuromuscular diseases.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association was founded in 1950 for the purpose of eradicating neuromuscular diseases. The search for cures or treatments for over 40 related neuromuscular diseases is and has always been MDA’s primary goal. To that end, the Association sponsors a worldwide research program, making it the nation’s leading organization supporting basic and applied scientific investigation on the neuromuscular diseases in its program.
MDA also seeks to prolong the lives and improve the quality of life of people affected by over 40 neuromuscular diseases in its program by providing health services. MDA accomplishes this through a nationwide network of local field offices and over 230 hospital-affiliated clinics. MDA is the only agency providing comprehensive care for people with one of the 43 diseases, including ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, nine forms of muscular dystrophy; and four forms of spinal muscular atrophy.
All of the funds from this event will stay in
