DEER VALLEY RESORT, PARK CITY, UTAH (June 16, 2008) – Deer Valley Resort President and General Manager Bob Wheaton announced this week that the Resort will double its seasonal work force housing capacity for the 2008/2009 ski season.

Although Deer Valley already provides housing for approximately 200 of its 1,500 – 1,700 seasonal employees each winter, the Resort has entered into agreement with John M. Kenworthy, of Mountain Resort Holdings, LLC, owner of the Heber Valley Park and Resort located at Jordanelle Reservoir just 7 miles south of Deer Valley’s Mayflower lift. This winter, Deer Valley Resort will lease approximately 50 log cabins that will house an additional 200 seasonal employees.

“Helping our seasonal employees find housing during the winter months is always a challenge,” explains Wheaton. “We feel that the agreement with the Heber Valley Park and Resort is a great fit; a win-win for all parties. The RV Park gets revenue during the winter months (its ‘off season’) and we get desperately needed housing for our work force during our ‘on season.’ It’s a large enough project that we feel we will establish a true Deer Valley employee ‘community’ there, which we’re really pleased about.”

The 50 cabins leased by Deer Valley seasonal employees at the Heber Valley Park and Resort will contain two bedrooms, two baths and a kitchen/living area. Plans are that each cabin will be shared by four employees. The cabins, built by Cavco Industries of Phoenix, Arizona, are custom-constructed and expertly finished. Cabins will have screens, decks, and be connected to utilities on site. The Heber Valley Park and Resort’s Country Store provides limited food service and grocery availability as well as a laundry room. The Park will be installing a multi-purpose gathering and recreational building to support the occupants of the housing units as well. Deer Valley Resort will provide shuttle transportation for employees to and from Deer Valley.
