Come join Canyons Resort's most popular party and competition--the 16th annual Pond Skimming Contest! The contest will kick off this Saturday, March 24, at noon. It marks the first day of Spring Grüv which is always crazy--start to finish. To compete, you must pre-register on the Canyons Resort website by today, March 21, before 5 p.m. So hurry and register now!

There are just a couple requirements for the Pond Skimming Contest.

1. You must wear a crazy costume--the more ridiculous the better. 2. You must be over 10 years of age.

The objective of the Pond Skimming Contest is to cross a 100-foot pond either on skis or a snowboard. Bribing the judges is always welcome and liquid courage is totally acceptable (if are over 21 and have a designated driver).

The pond where this is all going down is right by Red Pine Lodge, which is mid-mountain at the Canyons Resort.

Everyone who pre-registers to compete in the Pond Skimming Contest must be at registration on Saturday between 9 and 10 a.m. A mandatory riders' meeting will take place at the top of the course at 11:45.

In order to come watch, spectators must have a lift or gondola pass. Trust us, you won't want to miss this! Check out PCTV's coverage of last year to see why.

If you want to participate, remember that today is the last day to register so head on over to the Canyons Resort website for the pre-registration form.

Afterwards, there will be a concert at 3 p.m. featuring Little Feat in the Resort Village so stick around for that too!

Hope to see you all there!
