The Fourth Annual Wasatch Backside Lifty Invitational is underway in Park City!

For three days, the Canyons, Park City Mountain and Deer Valley resort's lift personnel compete against each other in 12 events--four at each resort. They events are meant to challenge to the skills they use while doing their lift duties.

They are the unsung heroes of the resorts--and this is their time to really shine and have some fun while they are at it.

Canyons hosted their part yesterday, tonight and tomorrow will be Park City Mountain and Deer Valley hosting.

Jeff Marzka, the manager of lift operations at PCMR, says this competition done in recognition of lift employees hard work. It's a little fun for them, if you will.

Canyons' lift manager Deirdre Riley says it is really a thankless job. She also said that “all three resorts have great teams that work hard and play hard! What better way to focus all that energy then to challenge each other at the skills we use everyday.”

So who will emerge victorious out of the Wasatch Backside Lifty Invitational? The skills of each of the resort's lift operators will soon tell...
