Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff is on a trip to Israel, and late this afternoon (Utah time) when it was the wee hours of the morning in the Promised Land, he decided to answer a text message sent to him regarding his plans to run for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Bob Bennett.

Forgetting that he had his Blackberry connected to his Twitter account, info quickly went out to his 1600 followers that indicated he was ready "to rock and roll" and that Bennett would be dropped "off the first ballot."
The rest of the news media picked up on it quickly, and Shurtleff indicates that he'll make his "official" announcement on May 20th.
Just as a side note, I follow all the other local news media, and PCTV was the first to retweet the info.  Another reason why you should be following us.
