The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded earlier today to three activist women from Liberia and Yemen, which got me to thinking about someone here in Park City, who could very well find himself on a short list some time in the future. Dr. Geoff Tabin is a world-class mountaineer, one of the first Americans to climb the Seven Summits. He's also a world class eye surgeon who saw the suffering of people in the Himalayas who have cataracts. Rather than just throw up his hands, he developed a program to help restore their sight and get them back into society.
We profiled Tabin for our Park City Stories program, and he recently was a guest on the Mountain Morning Show. Watch these and tell us if you think that's a person creating a better world.
