A Busy Weekend Ahead for Utah (Part 1)

The Utah Olympic Oval and Utah Olympic Park will host an exciting weekend of Olympic winter sports competition Friday, March 6 - Sunday, March 8.

The U.S. Long Track speed skating team takes on the world’s best March 6-7 at the Utah Olympic Oval. Witness the world’s fastest human propelled sport and catch speed skating stars - Shani Davis (2009 World Sprint Champion / 2006 Olympic Gold Medalist) - Chad Hedrick (2006 Olympic Gold Medalist) - Tucker Fredricks (U.S. 500m Champion) - Jennifer Rodriguez (2005 World Sprint Champion / Multiple Olympic Medalist) as they attempt to shatter world records on the “Fastest ice on Earth.” Admission is Free. Complimentary tickets are provided by Zions Bank and are available for pick up at all Wasatch Front Zions Bank locations or at the Utah Olympic Oval Box Office. Utah Olympic Park will welcome the region’s top bobsled and skeleton athletes for the U.S. Bobsled & Skeleton Federation’s Western Regional Championships on March 6 & 7. Spectators can watch the athletes race at speeds up to 80 mph on the 2002 Olympic track. Competition begins at 7:30pm both days. Free admission. The weekend concludes Sunday, March 8, as Utah Olympic Park hosts the Sprint U.S. Freestyle Championships. Catch the high flying action as the top U.S. aerial athletes compete on Utha Olympic Park’s freestyle hills. Competition begins at 9:30 am; finals begin at 11:30am. Free admission.
